In this episode, I will share with you what I would do differently if I were starting over, knowing what I know now. Having worked with hundreds of clients and doing this for over a decade, I’ve seen what works and what doesn’t for people. #1 - I would journal more

  • This allows us to slow down and reflect on our thoughts and feelings

#2 - Worked with a professional or taken a course

  • My process of intuitive eating would’ve been faster without the unnecessary fear or shame 
  • Consult a certified intuitive eating counselor, dietician, or therapist 
  • Utilize online resources but be mindful as there are other misleading information online as well

#3 -  Joined an online community

  • Learn with other people who are also going through what you’re going through

#4 -  Stopped weighing myself sooner

  • Stepping away from the weighing scale, event temporarily could be a part of your healing process

#5 -  Seek out learning about weight stigma and anti-fat bias

  • I discuss the 10 Adverse Childhood Events (ACE)

#6 -  Turn off the Food Network and get a new hobby

  • When you deprive yourself of food, food is all you could ever think of

#7 -  Set the idea of health off to the side

  • I'm infinitely healthier mentally and physically now than I was before I embraced intuitive eating. 

#8 - Approach your journey of Intuitive Eating with self-compassion

  • Extend yourself the same kindness you would to a friend
